The Percent Recovery Calculator is a useful tool for determining the efficiency of a purification or recovery process. It is widely used in chemistry, biology, and industrial manufacturing to measure the percentage of material recovered after a process.

Percent Recovery Basic
Percent Recovery Advanced
The Percent Recovery Calculator offers two modes—Basic and Advanced—allowing users to choose based on their needs. In Basic Mode, users simply enter the initial and final substance amounts, then press Calculate to determine the recovery percentage. For a more detailed analysis, the Advanced Mode requires users to input the initial substance amount, final amount, and impurities removed before calculating the result.
This tool simplifies recovery calculations for various applications, ensuring quick and accurate assessments.
Percent Recovery Formula
As this calculator is available in two modes, Basic and Advanced, we use two simple formulas for each mode.
Basic Calculation Formula:
Percent Recovery = (SAAP / SABP) * 100
SAAP stands for Substance Amount After Purification, and SABP stands for Substance Amount Before Purification.
100% = (40 / 40) * 100
For example, if SAAP (Substance Amount After Purification) is 40 and SABP (Substance Amount Before Purification) is 40, then the Percent Recovery is 100%.
Advanced Calculation Formula:
Percent Recovery = ((Final Substance Amount + Impurities Removed) / Initial Substance Amount) * 100
200 = ((40 + 40) / 40) * 100
(80/40) * 100
2 * 100 = 200%
If the Final Substance Amount is 40, Impurities Removed is 40, and the Initial Substance Amount is 40, then the Percent Recovery will be 200%.
